Verification of Continuing Professional Education Hours for Licensure Purposes

As of June 1, 2005, all Registered Dietitians (RDs) and Dietetic Technicians, Registered (DTRs) are using the Professional Development Portfolio recertification system.

RDs and DTRs often ask CDR exactly how the new recertification system impacts licensure verification since CDR no longer tracks continuing professional education hours. Continuing professional education activities are now tracked on the Step 4: Learning Activities Log by the individual RD or DTR, which is mailed to CDR upon completion of the five-year CPE requirement (75/RDs, 50/DTRs). To assist RDs and DTRs in verifying their continuing professional education status for their licensure board prior to the completion of their five-year CDR requirement, CDR has developed a State Licensure Verification Worksheet. By completing the State Licensure Verification Worksheet and submitting it to CDR, RDs and DTRs will be provided an official CPE summary statement including the CDR embossed seal.
