Return to Specialty Certification Index

At the October 2011 meeting, CDR approved two modifications of the eligibility requirements for the Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) credential:

  • Completion of all requirements for the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Diploma in Sports Nutrition is now allowed to substitute for 500 hours of the practice experience required to qualify for the CSSD.
  • CSSDs whose credential has lapsed, may recertify with 1000 hours of practice experience (rather than the 1500 hours of practice experience required for new CSSDs), provided they make application for the next available testing window following the lapse of their credential.
