Self-Assessment Series for Dietetics Professionals

Self-assessment modules are convenient and cost-effective professional development tools that can be completed in your own setting, on your own time, and at your own pace. Even more important, the modules are a valuable tool to objectively assess and enhance your professional knowledge and skills in nine practice areas:

• Nutrition Care Planning
• Implementing Nutrition Care Plans
• Research
• Nutrition Education
• Marketing

Each module is prior approved by CDR for 7 CPE hours.

After responding to hypothetical practice scenarios and submitting an answer sheet to CDR, you receive a confidential and individualized report of your performance on the module. This report includes a summary of your performance and a comparison of your overall score with that of other dietetics professionals who have completed the module. For example, the feedback report for the Management Module will identify how you performed in negotiating contract agreements, handling staffing issues, strategic planning, etc. Although the feedback results are completely confidential and you need not share them with anyone, you may wish to use them to showcase your strengths to your current or a prospective employer. Or you may use the results for guidance in determining which areas you would like to focus on for professional development. The report assists you in developing learning objectives and a plan for professional development. It also provides a detailed discussion of each module question and guides you to relevant educational information and activities.
