CDR has a long history of funding initiatives that promote its public protection mission and CDR credentialed practitioners. Recent CDR funded initiatives include:

Quality Management Evidence Based Practice Initiatives — to support establishment of new and update of existing SOP/SOPP.

Commission on Dietetic Registration Diversity Scholarship — The Academy Foundation administers a diversity scholarship fund established by CDR, which serves to provide scholarships to dietetics students of underrepresented populations within the field of dietetics. Commission on Dietetic Registration Doctoral Scholarship — The Academy Foundation  administers a doctoral scholarship fund established by CDR, which serves to provide scholarships for Registered Dietitian Nutritionists pursuing doctoral studies. Commission on Dietetic Registration Advanced Practice Residency Award — The Academy Foundation administers an advanced practice residency (APR) award fund established by CDR. This fund serves to provide funding to institutions to establish or enhance ACEND-accredited APR programs and for Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) enrolled in advanced APR programs. Institutions – New and existing programs are eligible to apply. Funds may be used for start-up costs, program materials, staffing, salary deferment, promotion and advertising, and student fees. Pre-approval by ACEND is required to be eligible for funding.  

 

Individuals – Individuals who have practiced as an RDN for eight years or longer, who are accepted into or presently enrolled in an APR program are eligible to apply. Funds may be used for tuition, expenses, or salary support. Full- and part-time participation in APR programs is acceptable.


Commission on Dietetic Registration Faculty Fellowship Award — The Academy Foundation administers a faculty fellowship award fund established by CDR, which serves to provide awards for individuals with nutrition or dietetics-related doctoral degrees pursuing the RDN-credential. Commission on Dietetic Registration Grassroots Marketing Award — The Academy Foundation administers a grassroots marketing award fund established by CDR, which serves to provide funding for CDR credentialed practitioners to promote CDR credentials at the local level to prospective employers or other third-party payers.  For more information, please visit www.eatrightfoundation.org/awards.

Commission on Dietetic Registration Leadership Award — The Academy Foundation administers a leadership award fund established by CDR, which serves to provide funding for CDR credentialed practitioners to obtain leadership training. Practitioners must have been registered for a minimum of five years and be in good standing with CDR.
