Maintaining Your Credential—At A Glance

Yearly Fee

In order to retain your credential, you need to pay a yearly, registration maintenance fee. Fees are billed every June with a August 31st due date. You may pay $70 for RDs/$350 at the beginning of your five year cycle, $60 for DTRs/$300 at the beginning of your five year cycle.

If you do not pay your registration fee by August 31st, your credential is expired and cannot be verified. Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics membership and their dues are separate and distinct from registration with CDR. 


Professional Development Requirement

All RDs and DTRs must complete continuing education in order to maintain their credential. RDs need 75 credits and DTRs need 50 credits in their 5 year cycle (1 credit must be in ethics). Practitioners must submit a Learning Plan and Activity Log.
