Test Accommodations
CDR and Pearson are committed to providing reasonable testing accommodations for qualified candidates with disabilities. The information below explains the accommodation process and the responsibilities of candidates, CDR, and Pearson.

- Need Assistance?
Important: If you need testing accommodations, you must request and receive accommodation approval before scheduling your examination appointment.
Please submit accommodation requests as early as possible after becoming exam eligible. Review of a complete accommodation request may take up to 10 business days. Additional time may be needed if supplemental documentation or an appeal review is required.
Accommodations cannot be added to an existing exam appointment. If you schedule an examination before accommodations are approved, your appointment will need to be canceled and rescheduled.
A candidate requesting testing accommodations is responsible for planning ahead and following the accommodation process established by Pearson in partnership with CDR.
A candidate is responsible for:
- Reviewing accommodation information and application requirements before scheduling an examination. Candidates should share the applicable documentation guidelines with their qualified healthcare professional to help ensure that supporting documentation meets Pearson's requirements.
- Submitting a complete accommodation request and all required documentation to Pearson.
- Allowing sufficient time for review and approval before their desired testing date.
- Waiting for accommodation approval before scheduling an examination appointment.
- Following the scheduling instructions provided in their accommodation determination letter.
Candidates approved for accommodations must schedule their examination appointment by phone with the Pearson accommodations team.
If you have questions about accommodations, documentation requirements, or an approved accommodation, please contact Pearson at 888-874-7651.
CDR is committed to providing candidates with disabilities a fair opportunity to demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and judgment measured by its examinations.
CDR is responsible for:
- Establishing policies for testing accommodations.
- Working with Pearson to support candidates who request accommodations.
- Ensuring accommodation requests are reviewed fairly, consistently, and in accordance with applicable laws and testing standards.
- Balancing accessibility needs with the security, validity, and integrity of the examination.
Accommodation decisions are based on the information and documentation provided by the candidate. A disability diagnosis alone does not automatically qualify a candidate for accommodations.
Pearson administers the accommodations process for CDR and serves as the primary point of contact for accommodation requests.
Pearson is responsible for:
- Providing information about accommodation options, requirements, and procedures.
- Receiving accommodation requests and supporting documentation.
- Reviewing accommodation requests with qualified professionals.
- Requesting additional information when necessary to evaluate a request.
- Notifying candidates of accommodation decisions.
- Providing scheduling instructions to candidates for approved accommodations.
- Protecting the privacy and confidentiality of candidate information.
Each accommodation request is reviewed individually. Accommodation decisions are based on the documentation provided and the candidate's demonstrated testing needs.
Requesting accommodations is a shared process involving the candidate, CDR, and Pearson. If you have questions at any stage of the process, please contact Pearson for guidance and support.
