Education events are with the intention of providing continuing education, networking, and professional growth and development. Procured stipends and an approved endowment from the Advancing Healthier Wisconsin, Medical College of WI to cover speaker expenses not covered through donation. With dedicated WAND teamwork, the tenure marked the start of the annual Fall Conference. |
| Chair-Elect, Chair, Past Chair | Renal Dietitians Dietetic Practice Group | 2016-2019 | The Renal Practice Group (RPG) promotes leadership, legislative direction, and educational resources to help its members who specialize in renal nutrition. RPG empowers members to be the nation\'s leaders in nephrology nutrition by networking with renal partners who are seeking common goals and accomplishments. During this tenure, both the revision of the SOP SOPP Nephrology Nutrition was planned for execution in 2020, and in addition, the funding and planning for joint research for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the National Kidney Foundation to lay the groundwork for the culmination and publication of the 2020 updated nutrition guidelines for chronic kidney disease. Additionally, RPG celebrated a milestone celebratory year FNCE® with a successful Spotlight session. |
| Speaker Bureau Chair | Vegetarian Nutrition Dietetic Practice Group (VN-DPG) | 2019-2021 | The Vegetarian (VN) DPG Speaker’s Bureau Chair supports VN DPG members who aspire to speak at state affiliate or local district meetings on vegetarian-related topics while coordinating with the State Coordinator Chair to build a collaborative spirit and increase knowledge of VN DPG. This Speakers Bureau provides a database of VN DPG members who have speaking experience on plant-based nutrition issues. The goal of the program is to increase the visibility of VN DPG and to disseminate evidence-based information on vegetarian nutrition while aligning with the mission, vision, and strategic plan of the VN DPG. During the tenure, the programs\' visibility increased to the point that speaker requests doubled in volume and met with approval of increased budgeting to accommodate growth. Despite the pandemic, we were able to pivot quickly to web-based formats to meet affiliate needs who were adapting to virtual meetings at that time. |

Spearheaded the newsletter during the tenure of VN DPG Chair when faced with changes to the editorial team. Rebuilt and rebranded the newsletter, added features, spotlighted articles, and additional columns, resulting in robustly rich literature with a wide variety of topics. |

The DPG networks with plant-based partners who seek common goals, and within this collaboration, achieve great accomplishments for healthcare providers, the community, and patients. The tenure was an exciting time, celebrating the DPG\'s 30th year milestone, rebuilding the Newsletter, and enjoying the return to face-to-face meetings with the wildly popular Spotlight session at FNCE® attended by over 4000 people both virtually and on-site. |

The Definition of Terms List is revised every 5 years, which was completed during this tenure with the publication “Updated Terminology for the Nutrition and Dietetics Profession: A Comprehensive Revision to the Commission on Dietetic Registration’s Definition of Terms List." |
| Quality Management Committee Member | Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics | 2021-2024 | The Quality Management Committee (QMC) provides directions for monitoring, developing, approving, evaluating, revising, educating, and maintaining quality in the practice of nutrition and dietetics in collaboration with various Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (Academy) committees. The Scope and Standards of Practice documents for the RDN and for the NDTR are reviewed and revised every 7 years. Using evidence-based practice, reflecting member values, and strategically positioning its members and credentialed nutrition and dietetics practitioners, the team shared a great deal of pride in the published “Revised 2024 Scope and Standards of Practice for the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist". |
Personal and Campaign Statements
Personalized nutrition, digital health, and sustainable food systems present emerging growth opportunities that allow great innovation impacting global nutrition care. My personal interest in dietetics has evolved from nutrition intervention and chronic disease to wellness and prevention with the use of unique education platforms. Nutrition is a uniquely personal journey impacted by a blend of individual factors including culture and genetics. Each person is on their own personal “food journey” and a personalized direction of nutrition care empowers patients to sustainable life changes.
