 My career as a dietitian, researcher, and educator is committed to upholding the highest standards of practice to protect the public. My direct experience with the CDR on the New Practice Competency Committee provides firsthand knowledge of the credentialing process and the importance of setting rigorous, evidence-based standards for our profession.

As a Pediatric Oncology Dietitian and Clinical Assistant Professor, I navigate complex environments and differentiate between organizational policies and professional responsibilities. My leadership in ASPEN and on the Board of Directors for the Down Syndrome Association of Central Kentucky demonstrates my dedication to service and advocacy. Pediatric Clinical Practice Chair American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition 2023-2025 As the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN) Pediatric Clinical Practice Committee Chairperson, I lead a national, interdisciplinary team of experts to establish and advance the standards of care in pediatric nutrition support. My primary responsibility is to direct the development, review, and publication of evidence-based clinical guidelines and consensus recommendations that inform practitioners worldwide.

I set the committee's strategic agenda, guiding the creation of clinical tools and educational resources designed to translate cutting-edge research into safe, effective, and practical patient care. I collaborate with ASPEN leadership to ensure our initiatives address the most critical practice gaps and align with the organization's strategic mission. This leadership role is central to improving clinical outcomes and shaping the future of specialized nutrition therapy for pediatric patients.
Board of Director's Chairperson Down Syndrome Association of Central Kentucky 2022-2025 As Chairperson of the Down Syndrome Association of Central Kentucky (DSACK), I provided strategic leadership and governance to advance the organization's mission of supporting individuals with Down syndrome and their families. I led the Board of Directors, presiding over meetings and fostering a collaborative environment to guide key decisions on policy, finance, and long-term strategy.

Working closely with the Executive Director, I oversaw fiscal management, including budget development and approval, and spearheaded major fundraising initiatives like our annual awareness walk, significantly boosting revenue and community participation. I acted as a primary spokesperson, representing DSACK at public events to increase visibility and forge vital community partnerships. My leadership was instrumental in driving strategic planning to expand our programs and services, ensuring we met the evolving needs of our community and secured the organization's sustainable future.

By embracing technology and fostering evidence-based practice through rigorous education and credentialing, we can solidify the RD's role as the essential nutrition expert, ensuring we lead the charge in protecting and improving public health.
