How to Log FNCE 2023 CPEU Activities

In case of audit, please retain either a certificate of completion or an agenda/timing outline which accurately reflects the number of contact hours spent completing each activity. 

 

Activity Type 170: Live Lecture/Seminar  

Please select Activity Type 170 for sessions attended at the in-person FNCE 2023 meeting. 

  • Practitioners can claim up to 19.5 CPEUs under Activity Type 170 for FNCE 2023. 
  • Log each FNCE 2023 session separately in the Activity Log.  Include the title of each session.
  • Indicate the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) as the Provider.
  • Practitioners may log 1-1.5 CPEUs for each session attended, where X CPEU is equivalent to the number of contact hours spent viewing the session. (For example, a 1-hour session would be eligible for 1 CPEU.)
  • Select a Sphere number and Competency.  Although there are three suggested performance indicators* provided for each session, practitioners are encouraged to select whichever Competency they feel best describes the knowledge, skills and behaviors gained from activity completion.
    • *Performance Indicators describe an inter-related set of behaviors and the level of expected performance that can be evaluated to determine whether the Competency has been met.
    • Suggested performance indicators can be found on each individual session's page.
    • Note: Learners may choose ANY Sphere or Competency regardless of inclusion on their personalized Learning Plan.

Activity Type 171: Live Webinar/Teleseminar 

Please select Activity Type 171 for sessions watched via live webinar that included an interactive Q&A/discussion. 

  • Practitioners can claim up to 16.5 CPEUs under Activity Type 171 for virtual FNCE 2023.  
  • Log each virtual FNCE 2023 session separately in the Activity Log. Include the title of each session.
  • Indicate the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics as the Provider. 
  • Practitioners may request X CPEUs for each session attended, where X is equivalent to the number of contact hours spent viewing the session. (For example, a 1-hour session would be eligible for 1 CPEU.)

Activity Type 175: Recorded Pre-Approved Webinar  

Please select Activity Type 175 for FNCE On-Demand sessions.

  • RDs may claim a maximum of 50 CPEUs for Activity Type 175 during each 5-year recertification cycle. DTRs may claim a maximum of 33 CPEUs for Activity Type 175 during each 5-year recertification cycle. 
  •  Log each FNCE On-Demand session separately in the Activity Log. Include the title of each session.
  • Indicate the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics as the Provider. 
  •  Practitioners may request X CPEUs for each session attended, where X is equivalent to the number of contact hours spent viewing the session. (For example, a 1-hour session would be eligible for 1 CPEU.)

Please note:  FNCE® session recordings will be available to access via the Academy's Learning Management system 4-6 weeks following the conference. All session recordings must be viewed by December 31, 2025.

 

Activity Type 130: Exhibits   

  • RDs may claim a maximum of 15 CPEUs for Activity Type 130 during each 5-year recertification cycle. DTRs may claim a maximum of 10 CPEUs for Activity Type 130 during each 5-year recertification cycle.
  • Log time spent viewing exhibits as one entry in the Activity Log.
  • Practitioners may claim X CPEUs for viewing exhibits, where X is equivalent to the total number of hours spent viewing exhibits. 
  • Select a Sphere number and Competency that describe the knowledge, skills and behaviors gained from activity completion. 
  • In case of audit, please retain a certificate of completion.

Activity Type 180: Posters  

  • RDs may claim a maximum of 15 CPEUs for Activity Type 180 during each 5-year recertification cycle. DTRs may claim a maximum of 10 CPEUs for Activity Type 180 during each 5-year recertification cycle.
  • Log time spent viewing Posters as one entry in the Activity Log.
  •  Practitioners may claim X CPEUs for viewing posters, where X is equivalent to the total number of hours spent viewing posters. 
  • Select a Sphere number and Competency that describes the knowledge, skills and behaviors gained from activity completion.

Previous FNCE FAQs

Q: Can I log FNCE CPEUs earned from previous years?

A: Yes, as long as the sessions were attended within the practitioner's current 5-year recertification cycle, CPEUs for those sessions can still be logged for credit. Please note there is a maximum of 50 CPEUs for RDs/33 CPEUs for DTRs that can be claimed using activity type 175: Recorded Pre-Approved CPEUs, 15 CPEUs for RDs/10 CPEUs for DTRs that can be claimed using activity type 130: Exhibits and 15 CPEUs for RDs/10 CPEUs for DTRs using activity type 180: Posters per 5-year recertification cycle.
